▶ Cue: Give a clear signal (verbal command or hand gesture) that prompts the behavior you want.
▶ Behavior: Wait for your pet to perform the behavior you’re training — either naturally or by guiding them.
▶ Reward: Immediately mark the correct behavior (with a clicker or a word like “Yes!”) and give a reward (treat, praise, toy)..

▶ Practice the trained behavior in different environments (at home, in a park, with distractions) so your pet responds reliably.

▶ Once the behavior is solid, fade out the treats gradually by switching to intermittent rewards (sometimes treat, sometimes praise or play).

▶ Be consistent — use the same cue, reward timing, and practice regularly to reinforce learned behaviors.
